Welcome!  I am a PhD student in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia.

My primary research interests lie in the realm of comparative gender politics, with a focus on the state and the ways in which it can create and uphold unequal balances of power between genders.  I am also interested in gender-based violence, how state capacity impacts potential outcomes for gender equality, and how we can improve the way we use quantitatve methods to answer questions about gender.

My secondary research interests are concentrated in racial politics and political behavior, causal inference, and political methodology.
